Laurel Love Letters

Handwritten love letters…

Starting on August 15th we will be collecting handwritten love letters! You might be wondering what that means...well between August 15th and September 6th we would like for you to write a love letter and submit it to the paper shop.

Yes there is a reason we’re asking you to do this - read on to learn more!

Writing Your Love Letter - Here's what we need you to do...find a pretty piece of stationery...a note card...or anything that you can write on and sit down and write a message to someone to help pick them up and make them feel special. Your love letter should be written in a generic form...in other words, no matter who reads your love letter, it would apply to them! You can chose to sign your letter or leave it anonymous.

What Will We Be Doing With the Love Letters? - We will be slipping the love letters all over downtown to be picked up by anyone who finds it. They will be scattered all over the downtown area and folks will be able to find them on Saturday, September 10th - the day of the Central Ave block party.

Why Are We Doing This? - We thought it would be a fun way to help people share a little kindness and spread some cheer for the person who finds your letter. The person who finds your letter will be instructed to post it to social media using the hashtag #LaurelLoveLetters.

We want to see the social media channels flooded with Laurel Kindness on September 10th!

How Do You Participate? - Well of course we need letter writers...and even if you're not a proficient writer...who cares? You don't have to have a PhD to make someone feel good, now do you? So write your letter...it can be short, it can be long...it can be a quote...it can be a bible verse...but make it something that someone will feel good reading. Something that will help cheer them up if they are going through a rough time or even to make the happiest person smile a bit bigger!

Drop your love letter off to the Be Amazing Paper Company no later than Tuesday, September 6th at 5PM and we will take it from there.

A Little Something Something for My Letter Writers - If you participate by writing a letter and submitting it to us by the 6th of September, your name will be entered into a raffle to win a three book bundle from Author Susannah B. Lewis. Susannah writes books geared toward Religion, Christian Life and Women's Issues. You will love her...she is a hoot!

And each person who submits a Love Letter will get a package of custom notecards made specifically for the Laurel Love Letter Program! We will leave the specifics on these until a little later...but trust me you will want to have a pack...and they will only be available to those folks that write a letter!

What About the People Who Find the Letters and Post Them on Social Media? - Well I wouldn't leave them out!

If find a love letter downtown on September 10th and you post it to Facebook or Instagram (or both) using the hashtag #LaurelLoveLetters you will be entered into a drawing to get your own set of Laurel Love Letter Notecards. And we will pick 5-winners!

So get writing...and share some love! The world needs a bit more kindness, wouldn't you agree?
